Sunday Mornings

Sunday morning is where the congregation gathers to listen for God’s Word, to pray, to sing, and to be reminded again who we are and who we belong to. The service is rooted in the Presbyterian tradition and shaped by a liturgy that connects us to the wider church across time, while still speaking to the questions and responsibilities of life now.

What to Expect

At FPC, worship is thoughtful and reverent without feeling distant. The preaching invites people to think deeply and to carry something with them into the week ahead. Music is a meaningful part of the service, led by organ, choir, and at times handbells or other instrumental offerings. The early and late services follow the same order of worship and use the same bulletin; the style of worship remains consistent. Week by week, worship helps form the shared life of the congregation and gives us a place to return to together.

Children in Worship

Here, children grow up knowing they belong in the sanctuary, not on the sidelines. Their presence is not treated as a distraction from church life.

Nursery and childcare are available in the Stock Building during both the Sunday School hour and the worship services. During the 11:00 a.m. worship service, a children’s sermon is offered midway through the service, and children ages five through second grade who would like to take part in Children’s Church are escorted by an adult volunteer to the Edge Lobby after the children’s sermon..

For families who prefer to keep children with them for the full service, that is welcome too, and children’s bulletins are available.

Communion

In worship, we celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion monthly. Communion, or the Lord’s Supper, is a time of remembrance, spiritual nourishment, and renewal in our faith. The invitation to partake in communion is extended to all who desire to follow Christ. Even one who has doubts or whose trust in God is wavering is invited to the table in order to be assured of God’s love and grace in Christ Jesus.
