Who We Are

Our Mission

Serving Christ from the Heart of the City to the Ends of the Earth with Love, Faith and Action

Long established in downtown Raleigh, First Presbyterian Church draws people who want a community to walk with them as they sort out what following Jesus actually means and what it asks of us.

We believe we understand the Gospel best together. It is in relationship with others—listening, questioning, learning, and serving side by side—that we discover more of who God is and how we might live with purpose.

Sunday Morning

Sunday morning worship anchors our congregation. The preaching invites us to think deeply and gives us something we can return to as the week unfolds. The sacred music inspires us and adds meaning to the service. Children grow up knowing they belong in the sanctuary, not on the sidelines. There is no pretense or polish for its own sake. The aim is simple: to help people encounter God.

Beyond Worship

Beyond worship is a network of relationships marked by sincerity and care. People notice when you’re new. They check on you when life unravels. They share in your joys and remember your stories. Many describe the church as a second home, warm in spirit and dependable in practice.

Outward Faith

Here, faith naturally turns outward. Members pack food bags, sit with neighbors in crisis, support the working poor through the Friendship Fund, and partner with ministries from the heart of the city to the ends of the earth. No one has to arrive fully equipped. We learn by serving alongside others.

In time, faith shifts; it expands. We begin to see that it sits at the intersection of grace and responsibility. It grows through honest questions, shared effort, and the ways we show up for one another. At FPC, we are figuring out what faith-full living looks like, and we’re doing it together.

We hope you will join us, too.
