Friendship Fund
The Friendship Fund is a crisis ministry that has been part of FPC’s life since 1959. It exists to help working families in Wake County navigate moments when an unexpected expense makes it impossible to keep up with rent or utilities. A car repair, a sick child, a shift without pay — these are the kinds of disruptions that can tip a household toward losing housing or having essential services shut off.
How It Works
The Fund provides emergency assistance with rent, mortgages, and household utilities including water, electricity, and gas. Payments are made directly to landlords, property managers, and utility companies across Wake County. Recipients provide proof of residency and income.
The ministry is funded entirely by donations.
Households Served
Each week the Friendship Fund serves approximately 10 to 14 households.
Demand
Demand is significant — around 100 requests come in each week.
Requesting Assistance
Monday, online at 11:00 a.m.
Tuesday, call at 9:30 a.m.
Appointments fill quickly and are available on a weekly basis. To request one, submit an online request Monday mornings at 11:00 a.m. using the link below, or call 919-833-4070 Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. Once all slots for the week are filled, requests are paused until the following Monday.
