Raleigh Youth Mission (RYM) is an outgrowth of Asheville Youth Mission, an organization founded by Christian educators and ordained PC(USA) ministers.
RYM began in 2013 when staff and members of FPC approached the staff of Asheville Youth Mission to consider expanding to Raleigh. Over the last several years, this ministry has grown to include over a dozen partnerships and hundreds of youth. RYM is a place where mission, creativity, and transformation converge. Three types of mission immersion experiences (weekend, summer and spring break) are offered for youth groups who come to Raleigh to serve alongside our neighbors at agencies in Wake County. Through service experiences, debriefing sessions, Bible study, and group discussions, RYM youth experience what it means to be Christ’s hands and feet in the today’s world. FPC supports RYM by providing an office for the RYM Immersion Director space, as well as housing and meeting space for the RYM immersion groups. The FPC Mission budget provides funding to help with project supplies.
