Commission on Ministry
Reverend John Fawcett comes to FPC in the capacity of a member of the Commission on Ministry with New Hope Presbytery. He has been assigned as an advocate for FPC. Of his functions as an advocate he is to visit assigned churches, members, and officers of the church. This is a fellowship-building desire on the part of the Commission; to build stronger relationships with churches in New Hope.

Christian Education Committee:
Lu Ann Little, Moderator-Motion passed to approve Dr. Alfred Sturgis, Director of the NC Master Chorale, to serve as speaker at the Hourney Class on March 17, 2019, on the h
istory and context of Haydn’s “Creation.”
Worship, Music and Communion Committee:
Edward S. Finley, Moderator, presented motions that passed.
1. Requested permission to establish a subcommittee to investigate the advisability of purchasing appropriate numbers of the current version of the Presbyterian Hymnal (Glory to God).
2. Requested permission to establish a subcommittee to investigate the advisability and plan for re-establishing William Peace University Sunday.

ITEMS FOR INFORMATION
Commissioners’ Report from February 23, 2019, Presbytery meeting at Kirk of Kildaire Presbytrian Church, Cary, NC. Commissioners representing FPC were Laura S. Miller, Charles G. Hensey, and Frances N. McClain. Highlights included a brief description of the worship service, open space gatherings/discussions, a black caucus report, a commission on ministry report, and a committee on preparation for ministry. Concern was expressed regarding the closing of Milner Presbyterian Church, Raleigh, NC. Mr. Hensey strongly encouraged FPC helping New Hope Village at Neuse Forest.

The Session was adjourned at 8:19 p.m. with closing prayer by Dr. McLeod.
