Program

The First Presbyterian Church Child Development Center provides a stimulating and nurturing learning environment where the developmental needs of each individual child are met through play, creative learning, and spiritual growth in a faith-based, group care setting. Our hope is that children and families will find community and nurture here.
Since 1816, First Presbyterian Church has served God and God’s people from the center of Raleigh. The congregation's ongoing mission is stated in this description of our church: "Serving Christ from the Heart of the City to the Ends of the Earth with Love, Faith, and Action."

The First Presbyterian Church Child Development Center is a mission of FPC and was founded in 2001. The FPCCDC is housed in the Dr. Edwin W. Stock, Jr. Building on Hargett Street.

First Presbyterian Church - Raleigh is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (USA).

The Center was established to offer excellent care for all children from infant to pre-k.  As a ministry of First Presbyterian Church, the Center provides a safe, welcoming environment where families and children can grow and learn in a faith-based setting while preparing to be good neighbors and future students in elementary classrooms.

We are a private center, licensed by the state of North Carolina, with school policies set by a Board that is composed of church members who are a mix of parents with children in this Center and other centers, and leaders in our community, who offer their gifts in service to the Child Development Center. The Board is composed of volunteers who generally serve a 3 year term.
