On August 28, 2019, Session approved Scott Andrew “Andy” Eaton as the Director of Music effective September 1, 2019. Andy graduated Magna cum Laude in May 2019 with a Dual Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance and Choral Conducting from Baylor University where he was awarded a full Graduate Assistantship and Stipend from the Choral and Vocal Departments. At Baylor Andy was Teacher of Record for several voice classes for undergraduate and graduate students. Additionally, Andy completed a one-week seminar at Illinois Bach Academy in 2018, a one-week workshop in Choral Conducting Institute at Interlochen in 2018, and was a summer Apprentice Artist at the Des Moines Metro Opera in 2017. He completed student teaching at Spring Valley Elementary and Midway High School in 2016. Andy was Chancel Choir Director at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Waco, TX, from 2016-2019 where he started the Robert and Betty Young Concert Series. Andy is from Texas and relocated to Raleigh in summer 2019. His fiancé, Casey Daniel, is a Raleigh native and graduated from Millbrook High School and from East Carolina University and Baylor University with degrees in music education and voice performance. Casey works at Brown-Phillips Insurance, a family insurance business in Raleigh.
