Mission Committee to Provide PPE Funding for International Missions

At the May 17th PW Birthday Celebration, we learned from Elizabeth Turk that the FJKM Health Program in Madagascar is in the throes of a second wave of COVID cases and has a significant PPE shortage. FJKM currently has 32 dispensaries ministering in mostly rural areas. PC(USA) and The Outreach Foundation sent some COVID assistance in 2020 and early 2021. The second spike in COVID cases has caused a shortage of hospital beds, oxygen, and other COVID related medications. Madagascar has not yet had its winter (June-August) and most of the population has not been vaccinated.

Similarly, at our recent June Mission Committee meeting, we heard from Chris Northup and Bill Miller that our friends in Haiti and Bolivia are experiencing many of the same issues. Thankfully, we had some budget contingency and the FPC Mission Committee is sending funds to Madagascar via The Outreach Foundation, Haiti Outreach Ministries and Bolivia to purchase protective supplies like masks, gloves, disinfectant and medicines. We are grateful to be able to answer this call on behalf of the entire FPC congregation.

Please continue to pray for our International neighbors in these areas.
