FPC Staff Show & Tell: Andy Eaton

Staff Member Since:

September 2019

Main Job Duties:

As the newest member of FPC staff, Andy has acclimated very well to such an integral and ambitious job role in the church. Chancel Choir, Chapel Choir, Children’s Choir, Handbell Choir and even special music are in his care throughout the week. He’s up to the task though, with such a varied background of education and experience in the arts and music. He’s able to contribute many skills and talents with flexibility and fun. He likes to think that in rehearsal “we create serious music, but don’t take ourselves seriously.”

Favorite Part of Job:

Although Andy has only been employed here almost 6 months, it didn’t take him long to find out what he likes most about it. The people! He and his fiancé Casey visited FPC a number of times before his interview and were blown away by how many people went out of their way to greet them and make them feel at home. So naturally the best part of his day is using his talents to rehearse an ensemble while doing two of his favorite things in the world: laughing and singing!

Message to Our Members:

Although he may say he doesn’t take his work too seriously, his motivation is deeply rooted in a genuine passion for music and creating.

“Music is such a precious and universal form of worship. It calls us to empathy, inspires us to action, and moves us to deeper prayer than words can say. Music connects us to the church around us, the church before us, and the church universal.”

With this in mind, it’s not hard to see his spirit of enthusiasm and support for the music here at FPC and his role in it.
